The teachers here at Heritage Farm School were handpicked for their passion for early learning and their experience in child-led learning and nature focused education. You can feel confident that your child will be getting the absolute highest quality education, as well as learning social and emotional skills from adults who truly care about your individual child's well-being and growth.

Tara Twiggs
Founder & Director
Homeschool Enrichment Team

Tara graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in 2008, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Her love for children began when she assisted in a Head Start program while in college. Tara has spent the last 12 years working with young children as a Montessori preschool teacher, para educator, a camp counselor and most recently a Forest Kindergarten teacher. Tara is certified through the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools (ERAFANS) as a nature-based early childhood educator. When she’s not teaching young children, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 kids, gardening, cooking, and taking care of her chickens.

Homeschool Enrichment LEAD

Louise received her MS from Georgia Southern University in Molecular Biology while on a fellowship that partnered with rural biology teachers to bring innovative science techniques to students. She hails from the Great Plains of Central Kansas where she experienced an engaging education due to mentors and project based learning. As a teacher her primary objective is helping students develop a love of learning. She is currently an avid homesteader, woodworker, and proud mama of 3. This will be her third year at Heritage Farm School.

Homeschool Enrichment team

Angie graduated from Central State University in Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. She discovered her passion for teaching after spending a year as an AmeriCorps Washington Reading Corps volunteer at Foothills Elementary. Angie has over a decade of experience homeschooling, enjoying the experience of learning alongside her children. She has also helped students with distance learning and worked at the Buckley Youth Center for two years, building relationships and supporting middle schoolers with tutoring, art projects, and more. Angie and her husband are actively involved in worship and youth ministry at their church.  She enjoys spending time with her corgi, playing the guitar, and being outdoors in her free time.

Jennifer Berte
1st-2nd Grade Lead

Jennifer graduated from Central Washington University with a bachelors degree and certification in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She began her career teaching in the White River School District for 3 years, and then began teaching from her own small school. Jennifer has experience teaching pre-k, Kindergarten, first and second grade. She has 2 children of her own and is extremely excited to combine her love of teaching and hands-on outdoor play at Heritage Farm School for another year .

Molly Clark
1st-2nd grade  lead

Molly graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and certificate in language literacy and culture studies with an endorsement in reading.  She has taught in the public school setting, here in Enumclaw, for 12 years. She has taught kindergarten, second, fifth and as a reading specialist. Molly has three kids. She is excited to pursue a dream of supporting students in their academic, social and emotional development in a rich environment that fulfills a child's basic needs for exploration, nature and play!

Stephanie has a tremendous passion for child development and helping little ones with their growth through teaching, nurturing, and building trust. Her passion came from the formative years of growing up in a tightly knit family with her sister, and cousins where child-care was a critical part of the family structure. After having sons of her own to raise, she was thrilled to have an opportunity to work with children in a school setting and see them reach their full potential. She is excited to be helping at Heritage Farm School. She is also a cosmetologist and obtained her certificate through South Seattle College, working in the industry for over 20 years. In her free time, she loves walking, riding bicycles, family game nights and spending as much time as possible with her husband and their 2 boys.

Kindergarten Lead

Alison has grown up farming the same land she still does today, and loves passing that heritage on to her kids. She’s  worked as a Registered Nurse for the past seven years, but decided to take a break to teach her kids as well as yours! Out of high school she joined the Army National Guard, proudly serving 6 years there. Alison and her husband are actively involved in their church’s kid ministry, and she’s so excited to teach kindergarten this year at HFS!

Mikaela Jonas
PM Kindergarten Lead

Mikaela graduated with her AA degree in 2018 from Pierce Community College, and has always had a passion for working with children. Over the last 10 years she has experience as a nanny, youth director for her church and as an assistant teacher at a Montessori school. She has also volunteered teaching sunday school, working as a camp counsler and supporting kids at a homeschool club for a local horse boarding facility. In her spare time Mikaela enjoys exploring the great outdoors with her husband and two toddlers and working in her garden. Mikaela is thrilled to join our Kindergarten team and lead students at the farm!

PM Kindergarten TEAM

Sophia Kelly is a recent graduate of Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas Texas with a degree in Practical Theology. She has recently moved back home to Enumclaw and is excited to work at Heritage Farm School. Being homeschooled, she developed a love for literature, reading and history. Sophia is excited to assist in the afternoon kindergarten class and wants to help inspire their students to love reading as well. On her own time she is currently working on get back into dancing with hopes of teaching and choreographing in the future. She also loves photography and her cats Lenny & Sheldon.

AM Kindergarten team

Janea has spent most her life teaching, training, and educating in both a volunteer and professional capacity. She began her love of teaching at a young age, volunteering in church programs and camps, working with younger kids. She later served as a missions team leader in Mexico, Central Asia, and Russia. She worked as a local preschool teacher for several years, and currently volunteers with the kid’s team at her church. Janea has a love of the creative arts and the natural world, and sharing them with her husband and three sons. She is thrilled to be part of the team at Heritage Farm School for another year!

Preschool Lead

Maria has worked in early childhood education since 1995. She is passionate about working with diverse groups of children and building strong relationships with families. Maria has had the joy of working with many children with special needs throughout her career. She is bilingual and is fluent in Spanish, and has also worked with ESL children. She is excited to bring her years of experience into a new program and gain new skills.
She is a mother of 3 daughters, and enjoys spending time with her husband and children. In her spare time Maria enjoys traveling, taking long drives and listening to music. This will be her third  year teaching at Heritage Farm School.

Preschool Team

Jubilee Olson graduated from Central Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. While her studies equipped her with a strong foundation in business principles, her true passion lies in fostering the growth and development of children. She worked 9 years with the White River Community Activities Program and Substitute before staying at home with her 2 children. Jubilee approaches her work with enthusiasm, energy and genuine care, constantly striving to support and inspire young minds. Jubilee truly values and believes in the potential of every child to succeed and grow.

Chelsey Fogelberg
Preschool Team

Chelsey has been passionate about working with children for a long time. While attending classes at Green River College, she began a job as a nanny to two wonderful boys. She enjoyed it so much that she worked with the same family for ten years. Chelsey also spent 8 years volunteering as a Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. During this time she worked with dozens of families to help make the best of a tough time for sick children. Chelsey also enjoys doing yoga and she obtained an RYT 200 certification by completing a 200 hour instructor course through Three Trees Yoga in 2018. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors with her husband and 2 awesome children, fishing, hiking, and gardening. This is Chelsey’s second year at Heritage Farm School and she is looking forward to a great year!

Jennifer Figliulo
Preschool team

Jennifer graduated from Green River College with a Network Administration and Cybersecurity degree. Jennifer's path took root when she joined the army as a dedicated Military Police, fresh out of high school. Her nurturing nature was cultivated by caring for her four siblings. And her experience in foster care continues to shape her compassionate outlook today. Jennifer is fluent in Spanish and treasures moments spent with her husband and young son. Jennifer is excited to lead our Farm Babies class at Heritage Farm School!

Here’s how to enroll!
1. Click on the button at the bottom of this section.
2. Create a Brightwheel account and fill out the enrollment form.
3. Your enrollment form will be processed within 1 business day in the order it was received, after you enroll. If your 1st choice is not available, we will choose your 2nd choice. If you don’t list a 2nd choice, we will email to inform you that we’ll add your name to the waitlist for your 1st choice!
4. You’ll then receive an invoice VIA BRIGHTWHEEL for the registration and supplies fee. Paying this fee secures your spot!
5. Welcome emails will be sent out March 1st!
