Julie Klein brings a strong social-emotional lens to her work with students. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin and has extensive experience working with high-risk youth in the juvenile justice and foster care systems.

Julie believes outdoor, place-based education is essential for fostering academic success, emotional well-being, curiosity, and creativity. Outside of school, she homeschools her three children, enjoys time at the Oregon coast, and writes about mental health, parenting, and relationships. Her favorite children’s book is Where the Red Fern Grows.
