Tara Twiggs is the director and owner of Heritage Farm School and has spent over 16 years working with children in a variety of educational settings. Her background includes roles as a Montessori preschool teacher, paraeducator, camp counselor, outdoor school teacher, and school director. Tara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University and is certified through the Eastern Region Association of Forest and Nature Schools (ERAFANS) as a nature-based early childhood educator.
Tara is deeply passionate about outdoor education and believes in the freedom children gain when they are given space to truly be children—curious, capable, and connected to the world around them.
Outside of school, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, homeschooling, cooking, and caring for the many animals that call the farm home. Her favorite children’s series is Calvin and Hobbes, a reflection of her love for imagination, humor, and childhood wonder.
